Privacy Policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
This website belongs to JP Tran, a jiu-jitsu athlete and coach at Art of Jiu Jitsu in Costa Mesa, California. JP’s team manages the website and answers every request sent through it (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the site collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- When you send a request: the type of request, your name, email, and if you add them, your phone number, city and state, academy or gym, preferred dates and times, number of days, group size and your message.
- Technical information: our hosting provider processes standard technical data, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from spam and abuse.
The site does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not ask for payment information.
How we use it
- To answer your request and plan a private lesson, seminar or workshop with you.
- To protect the site from spam and misuse.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we never share it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare hosts the site, protects it (including a quick automatic check on the request form that you’re not a robot), and delivers your request to our inbox.
- Our email provider stores the request in our inbox so we can reply.
- Art of Jiu Jitsu, when a private lesson in Orange County is booked at the academy. AOJ books it in its own system, and AOJ’s policies apply to that booking.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
Events on this site
The “Next up” section shows events from a public calendar that JP’s team keeps for the site. It contains event names, dates and places only, never information about the people who attend.
Children
JP coaches athletes of all ages, but this site is not meant to collect information from children. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should send the request. If you think a child sent us information without a parent knowing, contact us and we will delete it.
Photos
Podium photos come from public competitions. Seminar and class photos are shared with the host academy’s permission, and we only post other photos of people with their permission, and for anyone under 18, with permission from a parent or guardian. Ask us at any time to remove a photo of you or your child and we will take it down.
How long we keep it
We keep requests for as long as we need them to answer and plan the session or event, and then delete them.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information you sent. Email contact@jptranjj.com and we will answer within 30 days. California residents may also ask whether we share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing. We do not.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
